On June 23, officials at Green Valley Ranch Resort, a premier resort and casino based in Henderson, Nevada, revealed that the casino-resort will undergo a property-wide renovation, which will include, among other things, converting the buffet to several new food and beverage options and high limit rooms upgrade.
The renovation begins with the opening of Polaris Bar:
The casino-resort officially started the remodel with the opening of Polaris Bar, a circular hub located in the center of the casino-resort with 20 bar machines for gaming and craft cocktails on Friday, June 23. In addition, two restaurants from Bromberg Bros. Blue Ribbon Restaurants will be added. They are the 136-seat Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar and Grill, which is similar to the restaurant at Red Rock Resort, and a yet-to-be launched Mediterranean concept.
Commenting on the renovation, officials from Station Casinos, which owns the aforementioned Green Valley Ranch Resort, say: “The renovations come on the heels of Red Rock’s recent transformation. There, the company replaced the buffet area with Lotus of Siam, Naxos Taverna and Kallisto Oyster bar last year.” In addition, Ken Janssen, general manager of Green Valley Ranch, added: “We saw the success we had at Red Rock that did a very, very similar project. As I talked to guests here, we got the same feedback. They talk positively about some of the things they did there. To do that here in their backyard, Henderson, just makes a lot of sense for them.”
Other renovation projects:
As for the other renovation projects included in the aforementioned remodel, two new high limit rooms will be added, which will include nearly 125 machines, plus bartop games and a dedicated bar. Furthermore, the table games room will include 10 games, involving single zero roulette, double deck blackjack, six deck S17 shoe, midi baccarat, and a private cage.
But that’s not all; as Green Valley Ranch also upgraded the furniture, fixtures and fittings on its pool deck, the Backyard, throughout the off-season. However, the firm refused to specify the cost of the renovations. But on a related note, in May during parent company Red Rock Resorts’ first-quarter earnings call with investors Station executives said: “The company expects to spend between $70 million and $90 million on maintenance capital investments across its portfolio this year.”
What’s more, Janssen said: “The aesthetic changes as luxury, but not to the point where it feels pretentious. The goal is to bring a premium casino product to the east side of the valley. I think we’re servicing some things in the market on this side of town that are just frankly missing. It’ll be exciting to bring that to the Henderson community.”
The redevelopment is projected to be completed by early 2024, although some amenities will start to open to the public by the end of this year.
The legal status of online casinos in India is complex and varies by state. While there is no federal law that explicitly addresses online gambling, the legality depends on state regulations and the type of gambling involved.
Key Points:
-
No National Law: India does not have a specific national law regulating online casinos. However, the Public Gambling Act of 1867 prohibits operating physical casinos and gambling houses, but it doesn't cover online platforms, leaving a legal grey area for online gambling.
-
State-Specific Laws: Some Indian states, like Goa, Sikkim, and Daman, have legalized land-based casinos, and others, such as Sikkim, have also licensed online gambling. Many states have banned gambling altogether, including online gambling.
-
Online Sports Betting: Betting on sports, particularly cricket, is very popular in India. However, it's only explicitly legal in some states like Sikkim and Nagaland, which have laws permitting online gaming and betting.
-
Legal Gray Area: Many international online casinos accept Indian players and operate legally under licenses from offshore jurisdictions (like Curacao or the UK Gambling Commission). As long as players are gambling on licensed platforms, the risk is minimal, but local authorities may still choose to regulate or restrict online gambling.
-
Cryptocurrency: Some Indian players prefer using cryptocurrencies (like Bitcoin) for online gambling, as it provides a layer of anonymity and security.
While online casinos aren't explicitly legal across all of India, many international casinos accept Indian players, and online gambling continues to grow in popularity. Players should ensure they use licensed platforms and understand local laws before engaging in online gaming.
