DraftKings Inc, one of the leaders in the world of fantasy sports and sportsbooks, partnered with Samsung TV Plus to launch its DraftKings Network.
Perks of Samsung TV Plus:
Samsung TV Plus service is a free ad-supported TV service (FAST) that provides U.S. residents with more than 150 live channels – and now DraftKings Network has become one of them.
With this launch, DraftKings has written its name in history since it’s the first U.S. sportsbook that will be launched on Samsung’s platform. The content prepared for the fans and players will be extraordinary: the company included various top talents from the industry and many bettors in creating the content for its channel. Many different people will be there to lead the players through the channel and make the whole experience even better.
Along with Samsung TV Plus, the player will be able to watch the channel on the website draftkingsnetwork.com. Some of the content will also be available on different platforms, such as iHeart Radio, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, and Twitch. The company added a feature that will help players track the minute scores live, and it is presented as a scrolling ticker placed at the bottom of the screen. The feature will also enable players to track odds, and on top of that, the QR code will provide the customer with fast access to the newest DraftKings Network offers and promotions.
Stacie McCollum, Vice President, Content at DraftKings, said: “In bringing together some of the most authentic sports and entertainment voices under one umbrella, DraftKings Network is the destination for ‘In on the Action’ sports fans and content they love. We look forward to reaching fans with our deep roster of independent, credible, and relatable voices that resonate with sports fans and the sports betting community.”
The creators prepared a lot of unique and original content for the launch, so the customers will have the opportunity to enjoy shows such as The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz, a famous Jared Carrabis; Golic and Smetty with Mike Golic Sr. and Jessica Smetana; GoJo featuring Mike Golic Jr.; Ross Tucker’s Football podcast; and various VSiN content such as Follow the Money with Mitch Moss and Pauly Howard.
Access granted on various devices:
The owners of Samsung TVs launched between 2016 and 2023, as well as Samsung Galaxy devices and Samsung Family Hub refrigerators are already able to take a look at DraftKings’ entertaining channel. And the best thing about it is that it’s completely free – the customers don’t even have to log in!
Takashi Nakano, Senior Director of Business Development and Content Acquisition at Samsung, said: “DraftKings brings a fresh and crisp look to modern-day sports news and entertainment programming, which our collaboration will deliver to users across millions of devices in the U.S. Whether it’s a lean back experience on a Samsung Smart TV or a lean forward experience on a Samsung Galaxy device on-the-go, we are excited to work with leading operators like DraftKings to serve today’s sports fan.”
The legal status of online casinos in India is complex and varies by state. While there is no federal law that explicitly addresses online gambling, the legality depends on state regulations and the type of gambling involved.
Key Points:
-
No National Law: India does not have a specific national law regulating online casinos. However, the Public Gambling Act of 1867 prohibits operating physical casinos and gambling houses, but it doesn't cover online platforms, leaving a legal grey area for online gambling.
-
State-Specific Laws: Some Indian states, like Goa, Sikkim, and Daman, have legalized land-based casinos, and others, such as Sikkim, have also licensed online gambling. Many states have banned gambling altogether, including online gambling.
-
Online Sports Betting: Betting on sports, particularly cricket, is very popular in India. However, it's only explicitly legal in some states like Sikkim and Nagaland, which have laws permitting online gaming and betting.
-
Legal Gray Area: Many international online casinos accept Indian players and operate legally under licenses from offshore jurisdictions (like Curacao or the UK Gambling Commission). As long as players are gambling on licensed platforms, the risk is minimal, but local authorities may still choose to regulate or restrict online gambling.
-
Cryptocurrency: Some Indian players prefer using cryptocurrencies (like Bitcoin) for online gambling, as it provides a layer of anonymity and security.
While online casinos aren't explicitly legal across all of India, many international casinos accept Indian players, and online gambling continues to grow in popularity. Players should ensure they use licensed platforms and understand local laws before engaging in online gaming.
